eat local, grow local
My children used to love this book, its called Eddie's Garden and how to make things grow. If you are thinking of planting beans, pumpkins, flowers, carrots etc.. this book really inspires, and so does Eddie's little sister Lily!
Another favourite of mine is the Enormous Turnip. You can buy a book, or even have it read on line at the BBC CBeebies website.
Finally, the perennial Eric Carle's A Very Hungry Caterpillar!

What is it that inspires you and your children to grow some of your own food?
