I find this little gadget very effective in stripping corn from the cob, and less messy than doing it with a knife. It also avoids getting those woody bits mixed in with the kernels.

The device is made by OXO, I bought it online, can't remember where from but it was well worth the few ££ that it cost.

The blade is sharp so you need to take care, blood mixed in with the kernels doesn't look good.

We like to have some to eat during the Winter and so freeze them once removed from the stalks.

We just BBQ them in their skins , saves on foil and locks the nutrients in

Tony: Hadn't thought of using teeth.......great idea, then just spit the kernels into a freezer bag :-)
Richard: It's the technique that counts, I'd just been digging spuds before the corn stripping.......anyway you could say they were untouched by human hand.....

We like cheese!

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
