eat local, grow local
I bet you'd have got pretty good odds a few weeks ago that there would be no rain for the three days of the New Forest Show! Not only that but sizzling temperatures too!
The Food Challenge stand was kept busy throughout although we wilted a little in the heat on Wednesday and for some reason most people wanted to see the Queen rather than try out all the things we had on offer :(
We had cookery demo's showing how to use a Thermal Cooker, made chappatis with Eling Tide Mill flour for tasting Lyburn Cheese and Spice n Easy's chutneys, learned how to make a no cook carrot and ginger cake and got a few young people to pedal their way to make a 'Jubilee Smoothie'...
Another popular activity was making little paper pots from newspaper to grow cress in and we had a lot of people doing our fruit and veg word search.

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
