Longdown farm shop

Just thought I'd mention the Longdown Farm shop which sells lots of local and/or Forest Marque food. I've bought Beaulieu strawberries & blueberries, Romsey tomatoes and various "Pig 'n' Pickles" chutneys. Among lots of other products there are fresh free range chicken & duck eggs and meat from the Longdown Farm, cakes from Lymington, Lyburn cheese & goats cheese from Sway. It's open every day 10 - 5 and if you're going from the Forest to Southampton (or vice versa) along the A35 it's only a few seconds detour.

Comment by Stephen Tarling on September 19, 2010 at 11:39: Yes - I agree: Longdown Farm shop is good. I popped in for the first time from the Ashurst & Colbury Apple Day which was next door. I also noted Clayton Eggs, bread from both the New Forest Bakery and the Cottage Loaf bakery - both based in or near Fordingbridge; Yeo milk, New Forest honey and I even got a fix of the Oriental Ginger New Forest Ice Cream. It's on Deerleap Lane (well signposted) SO40 7EH just off the A35 main road to Southampton and obviously on the New Forest Food MAP (first entry at the moment: Shop - Ashurst)
