eat local, grow local
Have you heard about Future Farms?
Its a project based in the village of Martin, in the North of the Forest. I have just cut this from their website -
"Futurefarms is a co-operative, set up in early 2004, whose purpose is to grow food within the parish of Martin in Hampshire, for sale to the people who live there. We are a non-profitmaking enterprise - all proceeds from the sale of our food are used to cover costs and to build up the business."
Our shop is open in Martin Village Hall as follows:
Monday to Friday 9-11am and 5-6pm Saturdays 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
As well as vegetables, eggs, and meat produced by Futurefarms we sell a range of other local produce, including cheese, honey, juice, bread, jams and chutneys. We also sell newspapers on Saturdays (to order) and stock a range of basic groceries."
In November BBCs CountryFile gave us a nationwide airing on television when they came and filmed our activities on a very damp Friday morning for a 5 minute slot in the programme at the end of that month."
