Transition Fordingbridge - Low carbon christmas decorations

Greenwaste processing

I went with my camera over to Newbourne Farm Composting in Rockbourne today. I'd never had a close look at large scale processing of green waste before and it was fascinating to see.



Much of the material is familiar garden waste, a mixture of leafy and woody stuff plus other assorted items like rotting Pumpkins and guinea-pig litter.

Fresh local veggies

I had to go to Wimborne market today to get some shots of a local farmer and his meat/eggs stall. Afterwards I took a look around, always keen to see fruit and veg at markets. There were several veggie stalls there,mostly 'same old, same old' but Sopley Salads stood out as both freshest and most tempting. No dig gardening

Years ago when I was a commercial organic veg producer one of the leading lights in practical organic growing was Charles Dowding. At about the same time that I stopped production so did Charles - just a coincidence but I often wondered why he had gone off the radar.
