Pesky Slugs!

The other day, on the radio, it was suggested that this was a good time to place beer traps for slugs in your veg area. The person talking said they'd had great success at keeping the slug population down by catching the young ones now. The rest of the growing season had been much less of a battle with our little slimy friends after that.
We tried it and found loads in the beer the next day.....guess it's a nicer way to go than being horribly poisoned by chemicals!

What do you think? Do let me know.......

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
