What's left of your harvest?
A bumper garlic crop last year has allowed me to remain self sufficient so far and there are quite a few bulbs left still. I've also been more successful than before in storing apples and still have quite a number that are ok.
What's successes have you had? Are you still eating your own crops?

2011 Plans
The newly created Planning Group met for the first time last night. Various ideas to be developed and details will appear on the site shortly. But this is a quick resume of the kind of things we want to do over the coming months. We are fortunate to be supported by the Brand New Forest campaign and so have some funds to 'oil the wheels' :D
Key elements discussed were:
Signs of Spring
Hurrah! Lots of signs now that Spring is on its way.....catkins, snowdrops, daffs (almost) and today....saw frog spawn for the first time!

Ladybird, Ladybird
All through this winter we've had a large number of Ladybirds hibernating in our bedroom! Mostly in the hinge area of the windows but some of them have been snoozing on the walls..... With the slightly warmer weather they now seem to be waking up.
I mentioned this to two friends yesterday and was surprised…

National Vegetarian Week is a great opportunity to promote your locally grown and locally made produce.

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
