Tatchbury Farm - Farm Shop - Weekends

Tatchbury Farm is situated on Tatchbury Lane between Netley Marsh and Winsor, SO40 2HA.

They farm their own pigs, have some geese and hens and Sarah, 'the farmer's wife' makes some of her own marmalades and chutneys too.

unusual veggies

Dear Richard,
Interesting reading and viewing this weekend, thank you!
Being bored over Christmas and dying to get out to my allotment again, and wanting to buy something for the new growing season, I came across an ebay seller listing his unusual crops. Funnily enough, one of them is an "Oca", I also got a Shetland Black heritage potato and a Yacon Plant. I can't wait to dig them in and see what comes out!

I just love coincidences!  Last Saturday Dave Richards gave a really interesting talk about permaculture at Minstead Study Centre.  He illustrated his points with a brilliant range of slides and one of them showed some strange looking tubers that looked a little like Jerusalem Artichokes.  When the audience was asked if anyone knew what they were someone called out Oca.....  No I hadn't heard of them either.....  When I got home afterwards I checked my emails and there was one entitled…
