Hi all,
I was about to Freecycle a Bodum chopping board, however thought there might be some interested on this forum amongst all the foodies.
Its quite hefty (5000g brand / label on the side gives it away): 27cm x 27cm square, and 10cm deep ... almost butcher block size in fact.
Please contact me if you want photos, if I dont hear anything in a couple of days I will Freecycle through normal routes.
Cheers, Steve

Hi, does anybody know of a good local source of (free!) compost / rotted manure (Lymington/New Milton/Brockenhurst areas)? I'm starting to think about mulching the veggie patch - this year I'm trying to be organised and do it in the Autumn and let the worms do the work rather than in Spring when its always a rush.
Thanks, Steve

Just made some bramble jelly - my favourite jam/jelly ever. (I shall be hiding the few jars I made jealously from the kids!) After 1 hour picking last night I had 1.8kg of blackberries. If you fancy making some I would pick some soon as with all the rain many of the blackberries are starting to soften and break up (although still a few unripe ones left)
The recipe is very simple there seem to be some small variations but essentially the same:

If anybody fancies as many damsons as they can pick and a selection of cooking & eating apples, plus a smattering of pears - shout! We've already made damson chutney, damson jelly, apply jelly .. pear & lemon jam is in the pipeline (plus the usual suspects: crumbles, stewed fruit etc) - there's just too much to use and its a shame to waste it.
We're in Hordle and around and about over the weekend if you fancy coming over and helping yourself: Phone on Hordle 610281…

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
