Why do you think local food production is important?
To help local producers who have farmed the forest for centuries to continue with the way of life, for obvious environmental reasons, and for a healthy and sustainable forest

New Website

Posted on April 29, 2011 at 9:13 1 Comment

The New Forest Producers have now set up a website, with links to all the different producers, which markets they attend, and a diary page of where all the markets will be held. The website is being updated all the time, with new producers, dates etc, but you can get a good idea of whats going on etc. The address is www.newforestfarmersmarkets.co.uk

New Forest Producers Markets

Due to the closure of Braxton Gardens the monthly farmers market has moved to Everton Garden Centre. The times will be the same, 9am-3pm, on the first Saturday of the month, and we will still have the same excellent stalls and variety of New Forest produce. The market will be at the end of the car park, and well sign posted.

The markets have been doing well, with footfall up slightly at our regular markets, and a good turnout for the new Market at Plaitford. The continued support of…

Hi Catherine - thanks for adding the market today.  I like to do my Friday emails first thing so could you please add any weekend markets by Thursday evening if you want them included.  Best wishes - Richard

Hi Catherine - there's a new facility on the site now that might help you when putting up Market events etc.  You can copy events - that way if you want to keep the same text all you have to change is the dates etc.  Just go to an existing event and click on the 'Options' box and you'll see 'copy' - click on that and you'll get a version of the event that you can edit and then post quickly.  Hope that helps!  Richard

Catherine, Hi
That's great. Glad to hear that you are in the process of setting some way of getting local produce to local people.
If you give me your address and postcode, I can then add you to the map.
PS as a local producer you are welcome to attend our Local food Summit on Thurs 30th September, in Beaulieu. More details are on the events pages, but let me know if you would like to join us?
Many thanks
Sarah
