eat local, grow local
Seems to me that it's important for us to consider the environmental impact of what we eat. But this is a very tricky subject. For example, from what I've read around 90% of the energy used in food production occurs before the food leaves the farm gate. So food miles are often not as important as we might think.
I'd like to know more and a group of others who share that interest would help - please join in!

Comment by Mr D - Dave Knowles on December 11, 2011 at 15:10 Hi Richard, Jen (my wife) and myself sell Mr D's Thermal Cookers (a modern hay box) which can save up to 80% on cooking costs. We would be happy to give a talk on thermal cooking if you thought that would be of interest to the group. There are now well over 500 people using our cookers for cooking on a regular basis. If you would like more information and to see how they work please visit my blog Mr D TheThermalCook

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
