I found what I thought was a courgette plant growing in the veg gdn and transplanted it to the courgette bed. Now that it has fruit I'm not sure what it is. Does anybody know? Things that may have got into our compost are round courgettes, spaghetti squashes and gourds - I assume it's something to do with those.
Hi Sandra - It's not like any round courgette I've ever grown, the shape is something like that of the spaghetti marrow - just more bulbous at the end. You'll soon be able to tell as that one is close to ready to cook. Is there a chance it could be a hybrid?
Thanks. That's what I thought (easy for me to say now!) I don't think it could be a hybrid as the other things were veg that people had given us and that I would have put the remains of on the compost heap (and possibly not in the same year.) I'll cut open the one I've picked soon. I've tasted a very little one and it looked and tasted like a courgette. If you don't know I don't know how I'm going to find out!
I am delighted to announce that Spice ‘n’ Easy has been nominated in this year’s Hampshire Life Food & Drink Awards and I am hoping to make it on to the short list of finalists. To help in this endeavour I would be most grateful if you would…
