How does your garden grow?

Mine's coming in small amounts daily, but no excesses. I think the dry weather while I was away didn't help.

How's everyone else?

Hi Sue
I would be very interested in your black/redcurrants in exchange for some homemade jam & chutney, I don't really have anything ready in the garden for while yet.

I have more red currants than I need and I will have obscene quantities of blackcurrants but I am short of gooseberries if anyone has any to swap - I am in Minstead

We seem to have a lettuce glut at the moment. If anyone is near Barton and would like to pick one or two up, please let me know.

We have lots of white Doves and they are breeding like there is no tomorrow. Would anybody like some. Happy to swap for anything edible or even give away. We're in Ringwood.

Hi Cathy just to let you know the eggs were lovely - wish we'd kept the swap going, but it was the basis for this site. Don't have any veg at moment but will definitely be in touch once I have some. Debby

This is great, Sarah! I'm so glad to see so many people interested in this - Debby Lockey and I did a lone swap last autumn when we had a go with this idea - and I have to say the feeling of swapping produce is so SO much better than buying! Debby's veg were fantastic (Thank you Debby!) and I hope our chickens' eggs we gave in exchange were upto the mark! If anyone else is interested we always have a moderate surplus of eggs (from the 7 free range chickens we keep in our garden - and feed on certified organic chicken food) - about a dozen a week would be available if anyone's interested - we're in Lyndhurst. Happy to swap for most types of produce! Cathy

Wonderful idea - and for anyone who is interested Minstead is having a seedling swap outside the village shop on Sunday 9th of May 10am -12. Worked really well last year when we did it - people just brought along any surplus plants of any age and we had a pot for any donations that will hopefully go towards the community garden we are planning to create

please could I have about 10 - have space for one more row in my 'potato bed' and was going out to buy some this weekend. 'Fraid it will be a smile, but I'm sure you'll get good karma - it always seems to follow. Deb

Hi Folks

Does anyone know anyone who can best advise on the 'on site' composting of food waste...cooked and uncooked... for a moderate kitchen producing a binload of waste every few days or so...rat proof, non smelly etc but also…
