Fairweather’s of Beaulieu are holding a “Salad Days” event at their Learning Garden on Saturday 19th June.
10am - 3pm
“It’s possible to have home grown salad leaves all year round, and we hope to inspire and help everyone achieve this through this event” says Patrick Fairweather who will lead a workshop looking at some of the 25 varieties of lettuce and leaves that are grown in the garden. Visitors will have a chance to taste a wide range of leaves and find out which varieties to sow and when.
Advice on how to grow successful salads will be given by Martin Perry who will explore the many approaches to simple and successful salad growing, whether in a pot or in the ground.
Salads freshly made from Learning Garden leaves will be served over lunchtime with proceeds going to Oakhaven Hospice, Lymington
Children are invited to join in with Bird Spotting with the RSPB, a Vegetable hunt and the chance to sow seeds of their own.
