Come along with your spare seeds and seedlings and swap them for something from the Seed Bank. We have a huge range of seeds - why not try something new? If you don't have anything to swap then just make a small donation!
We will also be holding a free raffle - the prize is a copy of Charles Dowding's book 'How to Grow Winter Vegetables'. Plus there's a chance to find out more about the Ashurst & Colbury Community Group's activities and what the Brand New Forest campaign is all about.

We just ran a schools day, and at the end gave each participant for the day, and 3 week old herb. They all had mint, but I am sure you could get a variety. We bought 60 from the Happy Herb Company, who run out of Braxton Gardens and theyalso put in a slip of paper about how to look after them, and then how to use the mint afterwards - on ice cream, in ice cubes etc...

If you speak to them - Sarah and Simon Relph - they may also be able to repackage larger seed packets of herbs, into smaller ones, that they could label as being packaged in the New Forest? for you to give out?
There is also a small seed company in Cullompton, Devon called More Veg and they do small seed packets worth 50p in most veg varieties.
Then as a off chance, there is a lady, Bundy Riley, who grows her own calendular flowers to make her own oil and beauty products - I don't know if she saves her own seed? Or if she sells her own seed? But might be worth a phone call? She is also New Forest Marque.

Other people on the site might have some ideas too? But this is a start.

It was rather a vague query I had - so possibly both. Do you have any ideas for either?
Sue A.
Sue, Hi
Do you want a company in the New Forest that supplies seeds or
seeds of plants that are specifically native to the New Forest?

I tried the cheese from the Fernhill Cheese Company and went back for more! Soft, creamy and fresh, the children liked it too. Worth stopping at their stall at Lymington Saturday Market just opposite St Thoma's Church.
